Tackling health inequalities

HealthTotal Community Interest Company (CIC) exists to tackle health inequalities across Swindon and Gloucestershire. It raises money to help reduce health inequalities in the area. It does this by running a society lottery and working collaboratively with independent charity, People's Health Trust to develop local interventions.

We donate the good causes funds we raise to People's Health Trust, who invests these in communities wishing to make their neighbourhoods even better places to grow, live, work and age.

This grant making trust funds local people who have great ideas about how they can make their neighbourhoods even better places to grow, live, work and age.

Funding raised so far by HealthTotal CIC

Working with HealthTotal, People's Health Trust has made grants to local groups totalling £1,497,230.

GDance

GDance in Gloucester were awarded £26,188 to build on an existing idea. Current beneficiaries wish to develop skills to run their own community dance company; taking ownership of its future by working collaboratively in weekly sessions. It aims to enhance the wellbeing of local disabled people and address misconceptions of disability through performances and talks at local schools, events and conferences. It will benefit physically and/or learning disabled 9-40+ year-olds (including six wheelchair/mobility aid users) and their support workers, parents, and volunteers in Gloucester.
